These advanced sandbag workout routines are perfect for those who have a good level of fitness and core strength, and have trained with sandbags before.
The advanced routines below include videos, and a description that details the workout, the duration of the workout and we will outline the exercises that are included in each advanced sandbag workout.
FITNESS BLENDER – 40 MINUTE SANDBAG WORKOUT – TOTAL BODY + CORE
This total body and core sandbag workout will workout your entire body, with 50% of the exercises aimed at core strength.
Don’t let the 40 minute time frame of the workout put you off, the workout is composed of around 12 minutes of warm up and cool down worked into the routine.
Daniel does a great job of talking through each exercise, and each set of exercises is run using a timer so that you’ll know how much time is left with each exercise.
There is 15 seconds rest between each exercise, so you’ll need to be on your toes and ready to set up for the next exercise set once the timer on your exercise runs out.
WORKOUT STRUCTURE –
- 45 seconds active – 15 seconds rest
- Done in an A, B, A ,B format
- 2 sets per group

SHORTCIRCUITS FITNESS – THIGHS, BUT ARMS & ABS

This workout is pretty intense and control of movement is important to ensure a safe workout.
To complete this workout, you will need a step to work through the entire routine as required.
2x rounds of sandbag exercises using a step or bench. 12x moves per round with a 30/15 interval. This one is very challenging and will leave exhausted. So get ready!
FITNESS BLENDER – INTERVAL CARDIO & STRENGTH
This one will get the heart and muscles pumping.
The team at Fitness Blender make great videos that are really easy to follow and this one incorporates a mix of cardio and sandbag exercises to really burn the calories.
Make sure to have a bottle of water handy for the breaks, and a towel to wipe off the sweat.
Includes warm up.
SHORTCIRCUITS FITNESS – 5 MINUTE INTENSE TOTAL BODY
Short but very intense workout, that can be done back to back or at the end of a workout to burn heaps of extra calories!
20 seconds of work with 10 seconds of rest between action.
Make sure to do a warm up before getting into this one.
TEAM DOMINATION – 12 MINUTE SANDBAG WORKOUT
- 12 Minute Cardio Circuit
- 4 exercises
- 4 sets
- 50 secs work/10 secs rest
This workout is tough, with 50 seconds of work and just 10 seconds of rest between exercises, you’ll be halfway through and wondering what you’ve gotten yourself into.
The routine with give your entire body a good pump, and is a great workout to add to the end of your strength session to burn a few extra calories.
MARK LIDSTER – 30 MINUTE SANDBAG WORKOUT
This is one tough workout!
Do one round of all the exercises and you’ve completed the workout, or pick and choose from the 20 exercises to tailor your own workout.
Take no more than 10-30 secs rest between exercises for maximum calorie burn and strength endurance effect.
FIT GENT – 30 MINUTE SANDBAG WORKOUT
30 minutes of solid workout, with the exercises explained simply from multiple angles.
